Joëlle is a graduate of Purdue University with a concentration in French. She has also studied Spanish, German and Russian and would love to take a class in Portuguese, if she could find the time. Before radio, she was a social worker at the Monroe County Department of Social Services. She began her radio career after being rejected by WHAM for a part time News position. She was inspired by the News Director who took her aside and told her she had been HIS choice, but was voted down. From part time at WVOR to a full time gig in Erie, PA and a stop at WUSA in Tampa, Joëlle has played almost every kind of music, including stints at country stations. She found Jazz at first in Canandaigua and came home to Jazz at Jazz90.1, where she served as morning show host until her retirement in October 2021.

She loves Jazz, animals, and science fiction. She prefers daytime to night, summer to winter, and she really appreciates it when people take a second to put the two dots above the first ë in her name (alt 137). She drives everybody crazy insisting on correct pronunciation, writing little notes etc. Her biggest satisfaction at Jazz90.1 comes from knowing that the listeners care as deeply about the music as she does.
