Hal Johnson

Hal Johnson is fairly new to the jazz scene, but can’t wait to learn all about the rich history of jazz while bringing you wonderful music each week on Jazz90.1. He enjoys all types of music and has taken a liking to Fusion Jazz and Funk Jazz. Some of Hal’s favorites are Fatburger, The Brecker Brothers and James Brown. Hal recently graduated from SUNY Brockport where he was on air at 89.1 The Point and where he also produced commercials and imaging for the station for two years.  Before that Hal hosted a program on WMCC “The Mix” covering the MCC campus in Henrietta. Now, he has found a home at Jazz 90.1 and each week he plays a great mix of jazz, old and new. Hal’s radio experience includes stops at WCMF and WPXY in Rochester. Hal was born and raised right here in Rochester and looks forward to entertaining the audience of Jazz90.1 each Wednesday from 6 - 9 p.m. only on Jazz90.1.Contact Hal Johnson by e-mailing hal@jazz901.org.
